Honestly? You can’t do it all and that’s okay.

I know, I know... we all try. But let’s be real for a second. You can’t be the badass boss babe running a business and the mom who has dinner on the table, kids in bed by 8 PM, and a spotless kitchen every night. (And if you can, please teach me your ways, wizard woman.)

Running SRM means I’m wearing all the hats. Storefront owner. Pop-up queen. Farmers market regular. Social media manager. Online order packer. Embroidery master. Custom designer. Artist. Wife. Mama. House cleaner. Human. You get the picture.

There came a time when I had to face the truth: I just needed help.

And you might be reading this thinking, “Blah, blah, blah, Hayley—I know. You’ve said we can’t do it all all the time. But here’s my little secret weapon that changed the game for me…

I HIRED A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT. BOOM! 

No, she doesn’t work in-store. No, she doesn’t need a desk, or my Wi-Fi, or a W-2. She’s a freelancer who works virtually—on her own schedule—to help keep my business running smoothly behind the scenes. She’s basically my right hand woman.

So who’s my VA?

Meet Mary from Head West Assistance. She's my go-to-gal for all things admin and marketing. She has been with SRM for over a year, and if you’ve ever been contacted by the “SRM Team,” spoiler alert… that’s Mary.

She’s the one responding to contract emails, scheduling you on my calendar, sending out the e-contracts, collecting deposits, posting on social media (not all Insta because we all know my Honeys love a good reel), emails about the merch and designs, and helping me stay consistent with these blogs (bless her). While I’m out slinging tees, nerding out on new designs, or chasing my kids around, she’s holding it down behind the scenes.

And let me tell you, it’s one less thing to worry about. Want to know more? Look her up on the 'Gram (@headwest.va), or just ask me how to get in touch! I’m always referring her when people ask how I manage to juggle it all. I’m not ashamed to say I need help. In fact, that’s part of my new mindset: growth. Handing off some of the behind-the-scenes tasks doesn’t mean I’m stepping back; it means my business is moving forward in the right direction! Plus, it gives me more time to do the things I love within SRM and my family. HECK YA! It’s a win-win.
