New Chapter. New Building.

New Chapter. New Building.

Oofy. I don’t even know how to start this conversation, honeys. I have about every feeling a human can possibly have, and I still can’t believe this is real life. Who decided I was qualified to own a business? And why am I suddenly making these big-girl, adult decisions?

Moving SRM out of my house and into a retail location taught me approximately one million lessons... the hard way.

Inventory.
Staffing.
Hours of operation.
Event bookings.
Event staffing.
Marketing.
Learning how to embroider.

And that list could honestly go on forever.

The first retail space lasted about one week before we realized it was way too small (lolz). Five months later, we expanded into an adjoining space, which came with a whole new set of lessons.

Security systems.
Insurance.
A new staffing plan.
Even more inventory challenges.
Adding services.

Every step stretched me. Every step forced me to grow. Every step reminded me that SRM wasn’t just a little idea anymore.

Over the last 14 months, my vision for SRM has changed drastically. I love this business with my whole heart, and while it may have started small, it definitely isn’t anymore. I can feel a pivot coming and I cannot wait to show you what we have up our sleeve.

Before I go any further, I need to say a very sincere thank you to my pal, Laurie. Thank you for opening a window when I couldn’t find a door to save my fanny. Thank you to you and Michael for offering up part of your building, for dealing with my constant noise and nonstop package deliveries, and for sharing Iris with me. 😊 I truly would not have been able to figure all of this out from my house. Because of you, I was able to confidently close the SRM chapter at 100 S Broadway without hesitation. I now know I’ve got this and trust that our next adventure is going to work out.

Not saying I am not freaking out people. The anxiety level is high! BUT maybe rightfully so because...

WE BOUGHT A BUILDING!!!!!!! SRM is officially moving into 112 N Broadway. This is a huge (HUGE) project, and I am beyond excited.

I have always had an obsession with old buildings, and this one is extra special. It’s a historic building in our town and was originally a blacksmith shop when the railroad first came through Hall.

Yes. A blacksmith shop.
Yes. That feels very SRM.

We have some really fun ideas for the renovation, and we cannot wait to bring you along for the entire ride. So buckle up, honeys! 2026 is the year of the SRM Smithy Renovation!
