Well… here we go, honey. My crazy project, my dream, the one I’ve been talking about and thinking about for what feels like forever… it’s officially happening. We are in the middle of transforming the SRM Smithy, a historic blacksmith shop here in Hall, into the new home for SRM. Design headquarters, art studio, and western-alternative boutique all wrapped into one.
And the wildest part? We’re aiming to be in there in about a month. Yep. ONE. MONTH. 😅
Let’s talk about the art studio side first. Holy. Smokes. That space was PACKED. I’m talking years and years of stuff. It took days of dusting, sweeping, sorting, hauling… all of it. We saved some treasures, sold what we could, and tossed a whole lot. There were moments I genuinely wondered if I’d ever see the floor again. But now? It’s cleared out. It’s open. It’s ready. And let me tell ya… walking into that space now feels completely different. For weeks, it felt like I was working my butt off and nothing was changing. And then suddenly—BOOM—it hit me! The progress is real. All that hard work cleaning paid off, and we’re just getting started.
Now here’s where it gets fun… This building has history. Real history. And I don’t want to erase that. I want to build around it. The plan is to keep the soul of the original blacksmith shop and let it shine inside the boutique.
Think: Original blacksmith elements worked into the store + Old bones, new life + A little grit, a little edge, a whole lotta SRM
I can already feel the blacksmith energy in there. Like… it’s different. It’s creative. It’s raw. And I cannot WAIT to bring that “smithy flare” into SRM’s style. We’re kicking things off with the art studio space because it’s the closest to being usable. It already has power, heat, and the bones we need, so instead of waiting on the full remodel, we’re getting this room functional first so we can get things rolling. And the best part?
It’s big enough to do it all.

This building isn’t perfect. She’s old. She’s got stories. She’s got quirks. And honestly, that’s exactly why I love her. We’re not making something cookie-cutter. We’re creating something with character, history, and a whole lot of heart behind it. It's like a big art project in itself! That's probably why I am loving this so much. And I can already tell… She’s gonna be cool. I am so excited to share this space with YOU!
