Well friends, SRM is officially in the building! WHOOP! WHOOP!
Now, before you picture a perfectly finished storefront with everything in its place, let me stop you right there. A lot of this space is still temporary and very much under construction. There are projects happening, walls waiting for their next phase, and plenty of work left to do. But despite all of that, we're in, we're working, and orders are rolling out of the new shop every day.
The biggest question I've been getting is, "Are you open?" The answer is simple: if the pink sign is out, we're open! That's about as official as I can get right now. I am trying, and I mean trying, to stay as close as possible to our old store hours. Between moving an entire business, keeping up with orders, managing kids' schedules, juggling work schedules, and trying to keep everything moving forward, my hours have been a little all over the place. So for now, if you see that pink sign out front, come on in! If you are traveling to come shop, message me on IG to see what the hours are looking like for the day.
At the moment, you'll enter through the door that leads you through our construction zone, then through another doorway that will be getting a facelift soon, and into the current home of SRM! And when I say current home, I mean everything packed into one happy little space that will just be the studio when everything is complete. Eventually, there will be a garage door leading directly into the studio, making it easier for customers to pop in and see what's happening. But for now, we're embracing the organized chaos and making it work.
We've got a temporary boutique set up so you can still stop in and shop. It has pretty much everything the old store had, just condensed into a smaller space. There are totes full of inventory waiting to be unpacked, products ready to be restocked, and supplies being organized as we continue settling in. At the same time, summer pop-up season is quickly approaching, which means preparations are already underway for all the fun events coming our way.
The pressing station is fully set up and has been cranking out merch nonstop. The embroidery machine has its own dedicated area and has basically been humming away since the moment it landed in its new spot.
I've even got a temporary office set up. Someday soon it will move into its own room, but for now you'll find me tucked in the back between the embroidery area and a boarded-up office entryway. The checkout counter is back there too.
Things are a little cozy. Every corner is being used, every surface has a purpose, and there is a lot happening in one room. But somehow it works. And honestly, I love it. This building is more than just a place to work. It's the official home of SRM. After years of dreaming, planning, creating, and building, having a space that belongs to SRM feels pretty incredible.
I definitely didn't do all of this myself. A huge thank you, times about one million, to my girls who helped haul boxes, move furniture, clean, power wash, organize, and tackle every random project that came with moving a business. There were moments when I honestly wasn't sure we'd be ready to open. The list felt endless and the timeline felt impossible. But every time I started to stress, these ladies showed up and got things done. You know who you are, and I hope you know how grateful I am for every single hour you gave, every box you carried, every mess you helped clean up, and every encouraging word along the way. SRM wouldn't have made it into this building without you. So if you've got a girl gang, hold onto them tight. And if you don't have one yet, I highly recommend finding one. Also, shout out to Tim and all the construction guys! You da BEST!
