Somewhere over the last few months, I completely fell out of my nightly reading routine. I kept telling myself I was “too busy,” but really…I was bored. I realized I’d been reaching for the same authors over and over again, and the stories started feeling predictable. Same vibe, same plot twist, same ending. No wonder I wasn’t excited to pick up my book at night.
On a Costco run, I tossed The Thursday Murder Club into my cart and oh my gosh, it was exactly what I needed. Total palate cleanser.
This book is a mystery, but it’s also unexpectedly funny. The characters are a group of retirees living in a small community who spend their free time investigating old, unsolved crime files. It sounds quirk (and it is), but in the best way possible. The story kept me guessing the entire time, and I found myself reaching for it every single night, excited to read just a few more chapters before bed.
If you’re in a reading rut or just want something fresh and fun, I highly recommend this one. 10/10.
✨ Bonus 1 : They made a Netflix series about this and I’m so excited to start it.
✨ Bonus 2: It’s a series! I had no idea, so I can’t wait to snag the next one.
